The Actor's Nightmare and The Missing Lincs at WoodMill Winery January 10th and 11th posted Dec 6, 2007

Denver / Lincolnton, NC – The Lincoln Theatre Guild is ecstatic to be able to announce the dinner theatre performance dates for the production of, The Actor’s Nightmare and the debut performance of The Missing Lincs, the Guild’s very own improvisation troupe.  Two evenings have been reserved, January 10th and 11th , at the WoodMill Winery in Vale, North Carolina, 1350 WoodMill Winery Lane, Vale.  Tickets for the dinner theatre are $45.00 per person.  The evening will begin with a wine tasting at 6:30 p.m., dinner buffet at 7:00 p.m. and performance at 7:30 p.m. with dessert at intermission. Attendees will be served a sampling of the rich heart-healthy flavors of WoodMill Winery’s newest harvest, a delicious meal and without a doubt, unstoppable laughter.

The public can purchase tickets to the performances through CarolinaTix website www.carolinatix.org or through a link on the Lincoln Theatre Guild’s website home page starting December 15th. This will be the third event the Lincoln Theatre Guild has enlisted the assistance of CarolinaTix to help reach Lincoln County and surrounding residents.  By purchasing tickets online, the Lincoln Theatre Guild hopes to advance the stature and outreach throughout the area.  Both performances are expected to sell out, so residents are encouraged to log on on the 15th to assure a seat.

Directed by Chris Goodson, “The Actor’s Nightmare” is a laugh-out-loud comedy about George, an innocent bystander, who wandered onto an empty stage, uncertain of who he is and what he is doing there.  The stage manager informs him he must replace Eddie, and the show must go on.  George doesn’t know who he is and has no idea about being an actor, let alone know the lines for the play he is about to perform.  As George is pushed onstage dressed as Hamlet, he does his best to guess the lines and cues.  In the closing moments of the play, he rises to the occasion and finally produces the right lines, whereupon make-believe gives way to reality.  You will only know the ending if you attend the performance.

The second performance will be the debut of “The Missing Lincs,” the exclusive improvisation troupe.  This exciting new addition to the Lincolnton Theatre Guild is another way the Guild is fulfilling its mission to bring live performing arts and entertainment into the community.  Those in attendance at the dinner theatre will be the FIRST to see this troupe of talented and impulsively inspired individuals in action.  More details will unfold as this improv troupe takes shape for entertainment on the stage and at various venues around the county and beyond.

Details about the dinner theatre performances can be found on the Lincoln Theatre Guild’s website www.lincolntheatreguild.org.
